It’s time to take the leap…if your hairline has receded to this point then it’s time to go short or shave it all off.
The first thing to note here, is that the sky is not falling! 85% of men will experience some level of hair loss by the time they’re 50, so you’re in the majority, not the minority. The second thing to focus on is confidence. Either the front of your hairline or the crown of your head has thinned out enough that medium and longer hairstyles will make you look like you’re trying to hold onto something that isn’t there anymore. The good news is that the styles below you can manage on your own at home, so no more visits to the barber are needed, unless you want to get a premium shave experience.
OPTION 1: Buzzcut – confidence is key with this one. In going for a buzzcut, you’re exposing your hairline fully and owning it. You should stick to a cut that is 5mm or less in length, and plan to maintain it on a weekly basis. This is a great option, especially if you connect it with a beard that can keep interest and help frame your face.
OPTION 2: The full shave – this option can seem a bit scary, but in reality, it’s an awesome hairstyle choice that shows you’re owning your hairline. If you think of the celebrities that rock this look, you’re joining the ranks of Patrick Stewart, Jason Statham, Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis. The leading men of Star Trek, The Transporter, The Marvel Universe and Die Hard is not a bad group to be part of. For the best results you should look into a daily, or every second day shaving routine. To keep some interest and frame your face, consider growing a beard.
